<title>The Tell-Tale Heart 6</title>
The old man, I mentioned, was absent in the country.
Vl͓cɂɏočɂ͂܂B͌xɂ`܂B
I took my visitors all over the house.
ĉ~ē̂łB
I bade them search
~A܂ȂׂɂȂĉB
- search well.
ǂOɁAƌ܂B
I led them, at length, to his chamber.
āAVl̐Q܂ňē܂B
I showed them his treasures,
͌xBɘVl̍܂B
secure, undisturbed.
r炳ꂽ`ՂȂǑS܂B
In the enthusiasm of my confidence, I brought chairs into the room, and desired them here to rest from their fatigues,
͋^ĂȂƂƂŊȂĂ̂łA֎q܂ŎoĂčŔċxłĉƐ\܂B
while I myself, in the wild audacity of my perfect triumph, placed my own seat upon the very spot beneath which reposed the corpse of the victim.
͐΂ɑvƂv_sGɂVl̈̂΂܂傤ǐ^Ɉ֎quč|̂łB
The officers were satisfied.
xB͔[悤łB
My manner had convinced them.
̑ԓxāASzƂ͂ȂƎv̂ł傤B
I was singularly at ease.
͕svcȂ炢‚낢Cł܂B
They sat, and while I answered cheerily, they chatted of familiar things.
xB͍낵āACǂ΂ƁAނCyɘbĂ̂łB
But, ere long, I felt myself getting pale and wished them gone.
łÂɁÅ炪߂Ă̂킩āAĂƎv悤ɂȂĂ܂B
My head ached, and I fancied a ringing in my ears:
ɂŎ‚肪Ă悤ȋĈłB
but still they sat and still chatted.
xB͍|Ă܂bł܂B
The ringing became more distinct:
‚͂܂܂͂肵Ă܂B
- It continued and became more distinct:
r؂邱ƂȂAǂǂ͂ƕĂ̂łB
I talked more freely to get rid of the feeling:
̊瓦ꂽđR܂B
but it continued and gained definiteness - until, at length, I found that the noise was not within my ears.
Ȃ̂ɁA‚͎~܂AƖmɕ悤ɂȂāAꂩƁẢ͎̎̒Ŗ‚Ă̂ł͂ȂƂƂ킩̂łB
No doubt I now grew _very_ pale;
炩猌̋CĂ܂ɂȂĂ͂łB
- but I talked more fluently, and with a heightened voice.
łA͘b肪r؂Ȃ悤ɂ܂܂ɂȂA܂ōȂĂ܂B
Yet the sound increased
ł͂ǂǂ傫ȂĂ܂B
- and what could I do?
͈̂ǂ΂̂ł傤H@
It was a low, dull, quick sound - much such a sound as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton.
Ⴍē݂݂ɖ‚鉹AȂł񂾎vRĂ悤ȉB
I gasped for breath
͑̂ꂵȂĂ܂B
- and yet the officers heard it not.
łAxBɂ͂̉Ă͂Ȃ̂łB
I talked more quickly - more vehemently;
͂ɑɁAƔMۂ܂B
but the noise steadily increased.
ł͂艹͂킶Ƒ傫ȂĂ܂B
I arose and argued about trifles, in a high key and with violent gesticulations;
͗オāAǂȂ‚܂ȂbɂłƁAłȂ傰ȐgUĂȂ܂B
but the noise steadily increased.
ł͂艹͂킶Ƒ傫ȂĂ܂B
Why would they not be gone?
ǂĂ̘A͋A낤ƂȂ̂H@
I paced the floor to and fro with heavy strides, as if excited to fury by the observations of the men
O̊ĂƕĂ̂Ƃł΂ɁA͏ƒhXhXƓ݂Ȃ炵Ȃs藈肵̂łB
- but the noise steadily increased.
łÁA킶Ƒ傫ȂĂ܂B
Oh God!
A_I@
what could I do?
ǂ΂̂łH@
